Soledad Villagra subsecretaria de asuntos registrales, explicó que la nueva normativa tiene que ver con la necesidad de unificar criterios a nivel mundial en cuanto a la seguridad y que a simple vista, el nuevo pasaporte se verá igual al vigente pero con una línea de cobre que contiene datos biométricos.

En la misma línea, detalló que no es necesaria la renovación inmediata del pasaporte y que podrá utilizarse el vigente por varios años más.

Actualmente, el pasaporte express, tiene un valor de 2100 y el de trámite normal de 1100. Por el momento, no se modificarían los valores de los mimos y la forma de tramitación será la misma.
